App Tamer Overview
App Tamer tames your processor-monopolising apps and keeps them from chewing up excessive CPU time and battery life. App Tamer is powered by an AutoStop feature that stops the application automatically when you leave it.
App Tamer has a simple and attractive user interface that allows you to manage all of your applications without distractions or frustration. You can view the percentage of processors that each application uses, or you can access a graphic history. AutoStop can be enabled for any application or limited to a specific amount of CPU time.
App Tamer is the best way to control CPU usage on your Mac.
What’s New in (version 2.8.3) For Mac
- Corrections to issues where the process control did not work correctly during or after system sleep.
- App Tamer now allows you to create a sample of a report (like Apple’s Activity Monitor). You can do this by using the contextual menu located in the process list.
- The Video DownloadHelper extension’s helper application, vdhcoapp, is treated as an independent app, so that CPU limits for it can be set separately from those for the web browser hosting it.
- Fixes the appearance of buttons on the old versions of macOS.
- I changed some status messages to be more informative.
- Add support for Chromium Web apps.
